Dr. Godwin and his staff rely on the latest scientific medical research, technology, and procedures to deliver the best care possible. Evidence-based acupuncture is based on neurophysiology and medical science—not on ancient ideologies. Acupuncture has evolved, over the past few decades, into a cutting-edge medical procedure. Dr. Godwin has the highest level of education and specialist training in the field. This allows him to bring the best, most current research, technology, and procedures to bear on your condition. Education and training make a big difference in clinical outcomes.
We also incorporate herbal medicine as supplementary care. Specific, well-researched herbal supplements based on traditional Chinese medicine can, in many cases, get you quicker and longer lasting results out of your acupuncture treatments. Dr. Godwin will be happy to discuss all of your treatment options with you at your initial visit.

What We Treat
Acupuncture is a sophisticated procedure that works primarily through its effects on the nervous system and on muscles and connective tissues. Acupuncture's role in palliative cancer care is an exploding area of scientific research. We use acupuncture to help control symptoms associated with cancer and those associate with other treatments used to battle cancer, such as chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation. Acupuncture is also used to treat pain from orthopedic (musculoskeletal) and neurological conditions such as: low back pain and sciatica (sciatic nerve pain), bulging discs or ruptured discs, or muscle strain from overuse or injury; neck pain and shoulder pain from chronic strain or injury; neuropathy from diabetes, chemotherapy, and other causes; headaches (including migraines); and symptoms related to neurological conditions such as stroke and MS, and others.
